Despite a flashy start in the Euro Cup, the ladies of ZV de Zaan were unable to qualify for the quarter finals of the European tournament this weekend in Portugal.
After two wins, Sunday morning was lost with a 3-0 lead after a good first phase. For example, the Zaan dropped from place 1 to place 3 in group D. Elimination is a fact.

The ladies of ZV de Zaan had a great start to the new round in the Euro Cup. The opponent from Italy was defeated on Friday evening.

Korfball (room)
Round 8 in the korfball league brought two high flyers to the Zaanstreek. It was to be expected that Groen Geel would not take any points against PKC at home. KZ managed to win well against Fortuna Delft. Green Yellow is now on position 9 and KZ is on position 5 in the left row.
In the other leagues, the clubs came out of hibernation again.

Zaanstad and Compaen really had to perform better and in the first games after the Christmas holidays they both took an advance on better times. Compaen is now 8th out of 12 and Zaanstad is in 6th place.

In addition to the Euro Cup matches of the Zaan ladies, the Eredivisie for men also continued on Saturday. De Ham and de Zaan played tough away games. De Ham lost but in Eindhoven de Zaan managed to win big. The Zaan is in the middle bracket and the Ham in the danger zone.
