Sochaux refuses to postpone the match against Caen despite the funeral of Stéphane Moulin’s wife

In the kind of lack of class, one wonders what fly stung FC Sochaux. While its weekend opponent, SM Caen, is bereaved by the death of the wife of its coach Stéphane Moulin, which occurred on Wednesday, the Doubs club refused the Caen club’s request to bring the match forward to Friday so that some of its members can attend the funeral this Saturday.

“The entire FCSM sympathizes with the immense pain felt by Stéphane Moulin and his loved ones. He would have liked to be able to respond to SM Caen’s request to change the day of the meeting schedule for the 19th day of Ligue 2 between the two teams, explains Sochaux in a press release. Faced with the need to very quickly have to agree on a new program and in view of what this entails in terms of organization, the FCSM unfortunately had to resolve to have the match played on Saturday January 14 at 3 p.m. . »

“Pathetic behavior”

The Professional Football League had accepted the request, as had the broadcaster beIN Sports. The LFP even offered Sochaux to play Sunday at 3 p.m. or Monday at 8:45 p.m., in order to give him more time to organize himself. In vain.

Faced with these refusals, the co-owner of the Norman club Pierre-Antoine Capton did not hesitate to say all the bad things he thought about this lack of the most elementary elegance. “Clubs are families. Unfortunately, as long as some forget it, we will continue to see pathetic behavior, ”observed the leader on his Twitter account.
