Shooter Strautmanis wins the seventh place in the Grand Prix stage / Diena

In the qualification, in six rounds, Strautmanis shot 579 out of a possible 600 points, which was the third best result. The Bulgarian Samuil Donkov had the same number of points with more shot center tens, while the German Paul Frölich accumulated 581 points.

Meanwhile, Emils Wassermanis was in 13th place with 572 points, losing four points to the first eight who entered the finals. On the other hand, Daniels Vilciņš with 568 points was in 24th place in the competition of 37 shooters.

In the finals, the shooters first fired 15 shots in three series in the accuracy shooting, Strautmanis showing the seventh result with 147.5 points. The owners of the six best results continued the competition, the Latvian being one point behind this limit. Olegs Omelchuk from Ukraine, the bronze medalist of the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games in the pairs competition, was in eighth place behind Strautmanis.

Armenian shooter Benik Hlghatyan finished the competition in third place, but in the final series up to 16 points, shooters receiving two points for each won duel and one for a draw, Swiss Jason Solari beat Ukrainian Pavlo Korostilov 17-9.

Latvian shooters are also scheduled to participate in team competitions.
