Seraing breathes a little against Ostend, Westerlo takes the best of Cercle Bruges

Seraing won in Ostend (1-2) on Saturday as part of the 19th day of the Belgian football championship and left, temporarily, the last place in the standings. Westerlo left his trip to Cercle Bruges with a success (0-1).

Ostend took only two minutes before opening the scoring. On a corner from the left, the ball came to Nick Batzner, posted at the entrance to the rectangle. His cross shot on the ground in one time left no chance for Timothy Martin. Steve Regis Mvoue equalized for Seraing just before the break, with a curled shot in the area (44th). Vagner gave Seraing the advantage with a shot from the entrance to the rectangle fifteen minutes from time. Nervousness took hold of Ostend, which found themselves at nine in a few minutes after the exclusions ofOsaze Urhoghide for two yellow cards (81st) and Robbie D’Haese for a dangerous tackle on Sambu Mansoni (83rd). Seraing’s last success dated back to September 30 and victory at Standard. With 14 points, the Steelworkers temporarily give up the red lantern to Zulte Waregem (13 points), who will host Mechelen on Sunday. They return to 3 lengths from Ostend, 15th and first saved.

In Bruges too, the first goal fell early in the game when Nacer Chadli converted a whistled penalty for a push from Dimitar Velkovski on Halil Akbunar (6th). But it was the only achievement of the game and Westerlo pocketed the three points. This fourth match without defeat allows Westerlo (30 points) to return to the height of Standard, sixth. The Cercle, which remained in seven games without defeat, is in 10th place (26 points).
