Sélestat II goes into 1/8ths

SELESTATE

In Mulhouse, the SBC N3 team perfectly mastered the first half (30-34). But after a failed third quarter (QT) (26-8), the Selestadiens let the Haut-Rhinois win 76-53. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the return from the locker room has been problematic, an element to be settled from the next match.

In the Crédit Mutuel Cup, the reserve team received Eschau. When they met in the league, Eschau won. After a balanced start (14-14 after the first QT), the SBC took control: 43-35 at halftime and 58-48 after the third QT.

Then the defensive activity of Violets too sure of them drops and their opponents take advantage of it to come back in the last two minutes (66-66) and even lead 69-72 before a long distance basket from Idris Ozalakus, with the fault in more (73-72). Finally, the SBC wins 74-72 and qualifies for the 1/8es of final.

Nice victory for the women in Hambach (59-65).

CITY VALLEY

Dame coupe did not smile at the CBVV this year. The male seniors I could not travel to Duttlenheim: due to last minute absences and several injuries, they had to forfeit.

The women were picked cold in Duppigheim. In a freezing room, they took time to enter the match, the locals even increasing their lead by 14 points in the first minutes. After a few accelerations, Villé came back to three points at the break (48-45) and finally took the lead at the end of the third QT (63-62).

But in the last period, nothing is going well. Villé’s lack of success combined with the local euphoria enabled Duppigheim to win 74-70.

On Sunday, the girls played a late match on the Dragonflies field. They corrected the situation to claim a ninth victory. Leading 45-35 at the break, the Villoises accelerated in the third period and imposed their game, leaving only a few points to their opponents (20-6). They manage and win 85-60.

The male II lost to Barr, once again narrowly in the last minutes (63-61).

The U17M begin this second phase in D1 with a victory against Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines (82-42).

Tight match from start to finish for the U18F who received Ohnenheim and prevailed on the smallest of the gaps 52-51.

The senior men I will travel to Holtzheim for the last day of the leg friday at 8:30 p.m.

EPFIG

Against the Entente CTC Rosenmeer Griesheim / M.-Rosheim, leader of Pre-regional, the male I of Unitas Epfig (D3) knew that they were attacking a big piece in the third round of the Crédit Mutuel cup, even with a 14-point lead due to the two divisions gap. They were also still deprived of Julien Schaller, who is also their coach.

The Epfigeois still make a good start and limit the damage in the first QT (31-23). Their lead continues to melt but at half-time they are still ahead (44-42). But during a catastrophic third period (6-27), they multiply the loss of balls and the bad choices and are overwhelmed by the black wave of visitors, skilful and quick in counter-attack: 50-69 in the 30e minute. An expected reaction will allow the locals to win the last quarter for honor and avoid too severe a correction (65-82).

Next Saturday return to the championship against Ohnenheim (7 p.m. at home).
