Aiming to return to the elite of the SPFL, São Paulo Storm announced the hiring of 13 reinforcements for the dispute of the Gold Series of the state tournament and of the Access Division (D2) of the CBFA Brasileirão. Most athletes were on Guardians Football.
The team from São Paulo is joined by wide receivers Albert Felipe ‘Marvel’ and Valério, defensive lines Rafael Troiano, Everson Arcanjo and Militinho, linebackers Will Chaves and Rafael Ribeiro, offensive linemen Jeff Batista and Amorim, running backs Guilherme Oliveira ‘ Bomba’, Krillin and Gioia in addition to safety Vaz.
In December, São Paulo Storm agreed with four other players to reinforce the team in the FABR 2023 season. They are: linebackers Leandro, Rudy and Vitor, as well as wide receiver João Lucas “Bolt”. Earlier, the team had hired defensive coach Doug. In addition to them, the team approved three athletes in the selection made at the end of last year: running back Bruno, cornerback Linguini (former Caniballs Football Club) and linebacker Pedro.
Last season, São Paulo Storm was relegated from the SPFL Diamante Series and was eliminated in the Access Division (D2) group stage of the CBFA Brasileirão. In 2023, the team will compete in the Gold series and will seek access to the state elite the following year.
