MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — D’Angelo Russell scored 25 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied for a 128-126 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.
Anthony Edwards chipped in with 23 points, while Kyle Anderson added 20 points and 10 rebounds. Minnesota played without Rudy Gobert or Austin Rivers, having activity on back-to-back nights.
On Wednesday, the Wolves slumped in the fourth quarter and suffered a loss in Denver.
This time, Minnesota erased a 14-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter with a defensive effort they don’t usually deploy, much less without Frenchman Gobert.
Toronto scored just seven points in the final 9:46 minutes.
Scottie Barnes had a season-high 29 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter for Toronto, which had won four of six. Fred VanVleet added 25 points and 10 assists for the visitors.
