Rugby: outpouring of solidarity for the former Castres Romain Teulet who lost everything in a fire

There is nothing left. In one of the photos published by the daily La Dépêche, which revealed the sad story this week in an article, we can see the corrugated sheets of the fitness room blackened and damaged by the fire. On December 17, in the afternoon, a huge brassiere broke out in the sports hall called “Apollon et Vénus” located in the Dordogne and owned by Karine Dumas, the wife of the former Castres Olympique Romain player. Teulet.

The house, adjoining the complex, did not escape the disaster. She too was completely charred, destroyed. “The double jeopardy,” he says. Now the couple and their 5-year-old daughter no longer have a home. They are temporarily hosted by friends. A drama that spoiled the magic of Christmas and the end of the year festivities.

“We have nothing left, confides Teulet, winner of the European Shield in 2003 and champion of France in 2013 with Castres, to the newspaper. We had just finished our home, I had just done the finishing touches but everything burned down, including my wife’s gym. A gym where she offered group fitness classes with all the necessary equipment as well as a wellness area (sauna, hammam, etc.) and we couldn’t recover anything… We lost everything. »

Due to an ongoing investigation – the origin of the disaster could be criminal – the scene of the fire is sealed and the couple cannot even return to look for business or save property. “We have nothing left. Not even a change of clothes” continues the former fullback nicknamed Robocop during his 14 seasons in the Castres jersey.

Faced with this dramatic and urgent situation, relatives and members of the gym have decided to create a solidarity kitty via the online platform Leetchi. “Our coach and his family suffered a disaster today. We want to support her. Want to help us raise more donations? Share this pot! can we read on the crowdfunding site. “I don’t want to do an act of begging, it doesn’t match our personalities… But I thank all these people who really support us”, confides Teulet.
