Robert Turner III joins Stade Rochelais, Keith Wright on departure

The maritime leaders, who had been looking for several weeks for “someone who could bring points”, obtained the agreement until June 30 from the American rear (1.91 m, 29 years old), whom Julien Cortey knows well for having coached him for two seasons in Vitré in N1. This signature means ipso facto one thing: Keith Wright will not be retained either. While Pro B clubs are allowed three Cotonou/Fiba Europe players, i.e. players from Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and the European Union, they can only have one American on the scoresheet .

More adjustments to come

The pivot, who arrived in early 2022 and then extended in the spring, had a chaotic start to the season before recovering sharply, which did not change the SRB’s mind. He was shooting 10.7 points and 8.1 rebounds.

For its part, both in 2019-2020 and in 2020-2021, Turner III turned in Brittany at 20.3 points and 47.9% in shots the first season (43.1% at 3 points), 42.6 % the second (33.3% at 3 points). Coming from the Texas Tech Red Riders in NCAA, he then evolved in Mongolia, then a season in Orchies in National 1, another in Spanish D2, before his two years at Aurore Vitré. Since then, he has been playing at Stjarnan in Iceland, averaging 29 points in this half of the year. Robert Turner III played his last game in the Express League on December 29.
