Head of Binpres PP PBSI Rionny Mainaky said he was quite satisfied with the performance of the Indonesian badminton players in January.

BWF Tour 2023 opens with a series of three tournaments in January. After the Malaysia Open which entered the Super 1000 category, the India Open and Indonesia Masters were held successively.

“At the beginning of this year, starting from Malaysia (Open), India (Open) to Indonesia (Masters), the graphics were quite good, even though in India we didn’t win because maybe there was a factor of focus and concentration being disturbed.”

“But overall I feel quite satisfied. This will be our evaluation going forward to face the European tour in March which starts with the All England,” said Rionny.

Indonesia won three titles from the three tournaments it participated in. The details are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto at the Malaysia Open and Jonatan Christie and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin at the Indonesia Masters.

Rionny frankly said that he was worried about the appearance of Indonesian players at the Indonesia Masters. Moreover, Indonesia has just lost a title in the previous tournament at the India Open.

“I was a bit worried about the kids before the tournament took place. Seeing the performance in India (Open) and the pressure as a host could make them feel burdened. But thank God that didn’t happen. Istora’s support made the kids even more excited and maximal. said Rionny.

After the Indonesia Masters, the next BWF Tour is the Thailand Masters which takes place this week. A number of players who have participated in the tournament in January are still playing at the Thailand Masters such as Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin and Daniel Marthin/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
