Both coaches tested their entire staff, including four youngsters on the Leipzig side. The Saxons even exchanged the entire team once during the half-time break.
RB Leipzig prepare for the restart of the season in Abu Dhabi from January 2-11, with a second test to follow on Tuesday. On January 20, the Saxons will open the 16th match day against leaders FC Bayern Munich.
Peter Gulacsi (torn cruciate ligament) and Christopher Nkunku (torn lateral ligament) were not able to take part in the training camp. The top performers are still injured and did not make the trip to Abu Dhabi.
Timo Werner and David Raum, on the other hand, are taking part in the training camp, but it was too early for both of them to play. Werner is still suffering from a syndesmosis ligament tear, Raum suffered an ankle injury after participating in the World Cup. The German internationals used the time at the training camp for individual rehabilitation sessions. The Croatian Josko Gvardiol, who had reached third place at the World Cup with his team and was given special leave, arrived later.
