During the Burgundy Franche-Comté championship which was held in Dijon, the judokas of the JPHD (Pontissalian Judo Haut-Doubs) trained by Alexandre Zahirovic achieved the feat of qualifying for the French senior men’s championships 1re division which will take place in Laval (Mayenne) on May 27th.
The Pontissal team was made up of: – 66 kg, Kevin Petite and Fariss Ayoub; – 73 kg, Eddy Petite and Xavier Hoeng; – 81 kg, Émilien Taurines and Philippe Petitguyot; – 90 kg, Guillaume Pavé and Timothée Besland; + 90 kg, Baptiste Limonier and Sébastien Jacqué.
These judokas won the regional final against JC Clementin (Yonne). As Emilien Taurines, the president of the JPHD and competitor, reminds us: “We have to go back to 1998 for our club to obtain its ticket to participate in the French championship. Go to 1re division is to meet the 32 best French clubs, the big teams in the discipline. On our side, we have nothing to lose. We know it, each fight is going to be difficult, but we go there with fangs.
For this club, whose annual budget amounts to €50,000, this participation in this national competition represents an expense of €5,000.
