The Philadelphia Eagles are back in the National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl for the first time since winning the title in 2017. The Eagles beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-7 (21-7) at home in the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game on Sunday and qualified for the final for the fourth time. The opponent in the 57th edition of the Super Bowl, which will be played on February 12 in Glendale (Arizona), is the winner of the duel between Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
The match winner for the Eagles, who had finished the regular season as the best team in the NFC with 14 wins and three losses, was on the one hand the running game and on the other hand the defensive. Miles Sanders twice, as well as Boston Scott and quarterback Jalen Hurts scored the four touchdowns of the hosts, for the 49ers only Christian McCaffrey made it into the end zone before the break – also by running play.
