Petr Čech troubled NHL stars in goal. A childhood dream come true, he said after training in Chicago

Tuesday’s practice of the Chicago Blackhawks had an unusual participant. Chelsea football legend Petr Čech stood in goal. The former Premier League goalkeeper did not do badly against the NHL hockey stars.

Everything was scored by Petr Mrázek. Chicago goalkeeper and Cech’s friend, with whom they visit regularly. Even before training on the ice, the hockey player had a duel with his football partner in penalty kicks on the pitch.

“It wasn’t bad. I also hit the post, but Petr probably had everything I sent at the goal. He reads the path of the ball perfectly, you have to be lucky to score him,” Mrázka was quoted by the Chicago Sun Times.

When he got into the goal himself, he didn’t take a single penalty out of five attempts.

But everything was different on the ice. Cech stood between the three posts and the success rate against the entire Chicago team dropped rapidly.

“You are facing the best players in the world, you can expect them to have a good shot and be smart. I tried to read them, unfortunately it didn’t work very well. But I enjoyed it, this is a childhood dream come true, a priceless experience,” said the enthusiastic footballer .

The Czech plays in the third hockey league in Britain and sometimes trains with the first league team from Guildford, so in the end he also tormented some NHL stars.

“I’m a bit older now, so I can’t play two matches in a row, but it makes me happy. I’ll continue as long as my body can take it,” added the 40-year-old goalkeeper.
