Due to the dense vegetation that it has, 50 new poles with lights and reflectors were placed to have better lighting, and for greater security the police booth was rehabilitated

-The soccer, volleyball, and basketball fields, the stands, and walkways were rehabilitated

-Picnic areas, games for children, swings for the elderly and a play area for pets were set up

-Trees were pruned and ornamental plants were planted

-The “Municipal Soccer School” will open here for all children

-Soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments will be held, as well as completely free Zumba classes

Veracruz, Ver., January 31, 2023.- Mayor Paty Lobeira de Yunes held this Tuesday the inauguration of the integral rehabilitation of the “Los Pinitos” Park, so that the people of Veracruz can enjoy this important family recreation space, in addition to improve the urban image of one of the main access points to the city.

“I am very happy today with this inauguration, intense work was done in its rehabilitation and people can now enjoy it; During my government, promoting a healthy coexistence through recreation and sports is a priority”, stated the Mayor.

He explained that in this park, due to the dense vegetation it has, 50 new posts with lights and reflectors were placed to have better lighting, and for greater security the police booth was rehabilitated so that this area is more monitored.

The Mayor Paty Lobeira de Yunes stated that the rehabilitation of the soccer, basketball, and volleyball fields, the stands and walkways was carried out, with patching and painting, as well as installing new nets in goals and baskets, and new signage was placed around the entire park, leaving everything in perfect condition.

He stated that the barbecue area was also rehabilitated and picnic tables and benches were installed, so that families enjoy a healthy coexistence in the open air; The bathrooms were repaired, the slabs were waterproofed and the entire electrical installation was renewed, garbage cans were installed and hydraulic and electrical manhole covers were placed.

Good quality children’s games were also installed, with space for 54 children, and swings for the elderly to stimulate their coordination, flexibility and balance in the open air.

The Mayor highlighted that a play area for pets with hoops, a tunnel and obstacles was set up. “This is the first park with the modality for dogs, for pets, who can come to enjoy with their family and have a good time,” she said.

“Trees were also pruned and ornamental plants were planted; As you can see, when we are entering the city of Veracruz, more plants are already beginning to be seen in this park,” he added.

Lastly, the Mayoress announced that this park “Los Pinitos” will be administered by the Sports Department of the City Council, and very soon the “Escuelita Municipal de Fútbol” will open here for all children, and tournaments will be held soccer, basketball and volleyball, as well as Zumba classes completely free.

Los Pinitos Park is the third largest park in the city and also one of the most representative. “What we want is to recover these public spaces so that all Veracruzans can come and enjoy them,” concluded Mayor Paty Lobeira de Yunes.
