OTC surpassed San Martín in the Development League

After beating San Martín, the missionaries who lead the Development League, now cut the streak of four victories in a row in Regatas by winning 68-64 in a match with a heart-stopping end at the “José Jorge Contte”.

On Sunday night, Regatas received Oberá Tenis Club to seek to continue their streak. He had just beaten Ferro in the first game of the year, but this time the missionaries won 68-64. The figure was the escort Francisco Tarnowyk, with 20 points, and among those led by Alejandro Silveira, the Dominican Rey Abad stood out with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Regatas had started better in spirit and on the scoreboard, reaching a 9 lead. He remained in front for almost the entire first half, when Gornatti’s team reacted. They went into the break with a difference of three points, but when they returned it deepened. By the beginning of the last quarter the process seemed defined but the “ghost” team showed a lot of character.

With a very young team, the rowers took the lead momentarily. A couple of hot plays opened the board, and Oberá ended up taking it with free throws. The missionaries, who came leading and had beaten San Martín, take a perfect record from the capital of Corrientes and will travel to Formosa to continue the tour.

Regatas, as mentioned, had the top scorer in Rey Abad, but Francisco Ferraro and Benjamín Marcó from Corrientes also played an important role. Now they will go on tour to face Obras and Platense as visitors. It will be on January 20 and 22, and then they will close the month at home against Argentino de Junín and Atenas.
