NICOLEÑOS TEAMS FOR THE FEDERAL LEAGUE

The CAB officially announced the groups for the Federal Basketball League 2023.

Belgrano, Regatas and Somisa from our city will compete in the first round of the contest sharing the group with the clubs Centenario de Venado Tuerto, Olimpia de Venado Tuerto, Sport Club de Cañada de Gómez, Atlético Trebolense and San Martín de Marcos Juárez.

The championship will begin on Friday, January 27.

Regatas, Somisa and Belgrano would have to travel to Venado Tuerto, El Trébol, Cañada de Gómez and Marcos Juárez in the next edition of the Federal Basketball League, which will begin at the end of this month. The Argentine Confederation communicated it to the clubs, but has not yet made it official. A new season badly shuffled from the beginning.

We are entering 2023, in the month of the start of the Federal Basketball League, and the definitions regarding the championship continue to appear dropper. Belgrano, Somisa and Regatas qualified in the Pre Federal of the CAB 1 Region, but they would share a group in the Federal with classified teams from other regions. The official reason does not exist, but everything would be summed up to a bid for power that the Argentine Confederation has been bringing for a while with the Federation of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by Miguel Chami and Martín Vercelli from Nicolás. In the last few days, a judicial ruling was revealed that would lead to the intervention of the Buenos Aires Federation and would demand a new assembly of authorities, after defining as illegitimate the one that led the current leaders to their respective positions. Hostages of this pull, the Nicoleño clubs seem not to find their place in the Federal field.

The CAB unofficially announced days ago to the clubs the zone that they would integrate in the next tournament, in which they would have as rivals Olimpia and Centenario de Venado Tuerto, San Martín de Marcos Juárez, Atlético Trebolense de El Trébol and Sport Club of Canada de Gomez. All clubs that do not belong to CAB 1 Region, where Somisa, Belgrano and Regatas just qualified. The tournament, which in principle was going to have 130 participating teams, registered 72 at the close of registrations in mid-December, and from then on the official communications of the Confederation were conspicuous by their absence.

To the court

Despite these untidy things, the Nicoleños are already preparing to return to practice next Monday. In the case of Somisa, it will be the fourth uninterrupted presence in the category; for Regatas and Belgrano the third participation in a row. This season, as planned, the squads will be made up of only four Senior players, two Under-23 (2000-2001) and four Under-21 (2002-2003). Likewise, up to four Under-23s and eight Under-21s may be on the list in good faith, as long as they are players with more than one year in the institution. You can also have two more Majors if they were two years old and the club’s final pass. All of them could be included in the official roster and rotate in the composition of the roster for each game (which may not come out of 4 Majors, 2 Sub-23 and 4 Sub-21).
