Play-offs in sight for badminton players FIT Almere

PARKWIJK – The badminton players of FIT Almere came out of the Christmas holidays well and managed to win 6-2 in a double weekend in Wateringen at VELO and draw at home against defending champion Duinwijck. The playoffs are therefore in sight.

Before the weekend, FIT Almere was two points ahead of number four, VELO, which was extended to six points on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the home game against Duinwijck, Almere forgot to win and had to allow a draw. All doubles were won in two games, but unfortunately all singles were all lost, including three singles in a third deciding game.

After the weekend it is clear that the Top 3 have broken free in the championship pool of the national premier league badminton. Coach Dave Khodabux stated afterwards that a combative Almere has started the year well and has a good view of a play-off spot, which is in any case the goal to achieve.

Almere played last weekend and the coming weeks without star players Cheryl Seinen and Adam Hall, who are both active in Asia for a series of tournaments.
