With the NBA Trade Deadline fast approaching, the leaders of the 30 franchises are busy making the necessary transfers before the fateful date of February 9. Of course, the situation of each team is different, and it is specifically for this reason that we wanted to make a special deadline paper by franchise. Presentation of the issues, issues to watch, intentions on the transfer market… we explain everything to you. On the menu today, the Golden State Warriors.
THE WARRIORS, RATHER BUYERS OR SELLERS AT THE DEADLINE?
Here are the Warriors in a complicated situation. Currently tenth in the Western Conference (23 wins, 24 losses), the defending champions are having a difficult season. Golden State is still unable to catch up with the leading teams and remains stuck between 7th and 10th place. 3rd best attack in the league (117.6 points scored), but only 26th defense (118 points against), too few to hope to go up. The Bay franchise is therefore looking for defensive reinforcements, especially on the back line, and could move even if it will not be a big upheaval.
What’s special about the Warriors for two seasons is that they still have the hard core that made Golden State a dynasty, but also a core of young people who are generally struggling to provide the necessary support at the rotation level this year. While Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green want to maximize their chances of playing back-to-back, the Warriors franchise also wants to keep an eye on the future. Not an easy balance.
???? The Warriors don’t want to trade James Wiseman, Moses Moody, or Jonathan Kuminga.
Despite the pressure of recent discussions around Wiseman, Bob Myers and the management of Golden State do not seem to want to part with the young pivot at the trade deadline. pic.twitter.com/GhyBtd0zrA

WARRIORS PLAYER(S) WHO COULD BE TRANSFERRED
- JaMychal Green : 32-year-old 4/5 post who puts down 6.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1 assist per game.
No major change planned, but why not adjustments, and JaMychal Green could be a victim. The strong winger, who will be a free agent this summer (he currently has a minimum salary of 2.6 million), will perhaps serve as a bargaining chip for the Warriors to allow them to open a spot in the roster, and then recruit a veteran on the buyout market to strengthen their rotation (especially defensively).
???? JaMychal Green is the Warriors player most likely to be traded by February 9.
Either to improve the defense on the outside lines, currently number 1 priority in Golden State, or to allow Anthony Lamb to have a guaranteed contract spot. pic.twitter.com/AuYHe24Cji

THE PLAYERS COVENTED BY THE WARRIORS
In search of an outside defender, the Warriors checked the name ofAlex Caruso. The profile of the back of the Bulls would totally match the needs of GSW. However, the 28-year-old, under contract until 2024-25 with Chicago with a salary of 9 million this year, is absolutely not sure of changing teams at the deadline and could very well continue at the Bulls, so May the Taurus season start to get better.
Another track, but much less concrete, that of Malik Beasley. The back of the Jazz, a real flamethrower coming out of the bench, would be an additional option in the Bay. But the franchise of Utah is greedy and requires a first round of Draft. The 26-year-old is averaging 13.6 points per game, 36% from three points. His salary is 15.5 million this season (with a team option of 16.5 million for 2023-24). The competition is also strong and the Warriors are starting from (very) far.
According to @KCJHoop if the @chicagobulls trade Alex Caruso the @warriors are “prominently mentioned” as a team interested in acquiring the defensive stalwart. pic.twitter.com/VzhChHgVHI
