The Los Angeles Lakers lost the city duel to the Clippers despite a gala performance by LeBron James.

The Lakers lost 115:133 to the Clippers on Tuesday evening (01/24/2023, local time) and thus remain in the table basement of the Western Conference.

LeBron James continued his hunt for the NBA points record with an impressive performance. The 38-year-old had 46 points, including nine converted threes, a career high for the NBA superstar. James is now just 177 points behind record holder Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

National team captain Dennis Schröder had an unremarkable evening with the Lakers, the playmaker had seven points and no assists. Paul George was the best pitcher for the Clippers with 27 points.

Harstenstein stops Mitchell, Knicks win

Isaiah Hartenstein contributed to the success of the New York Knicks in the NBA with a strong defensive action just before the final siren. Around six seconds before the end, the international prevented a layup by star player Donovan Mitchell from the Cleveland Cavaliers with strong positional play. The Knicks finally prevailed 105:103 in front of their home crowd. In total, Hartenstein had four points, nine rebounds and four assists. New York, seventh in the table in the Eastern Conference, continues to keep an eye on the playoff spots.

Jokic returns to the Nuggets with a “triple double”.

The Boston Celtics, leaders in the East, conceded their second consecutive defeat at 95-98 in Miami. In the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets maintained their lead with a narrow 99-98 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Nikola Jokic, who recently had to sit out due to an injury, scored a “triple-double” on his comeback, with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
