Martina Navrátilová was diagnosed with two types of cancer

The bad news came thirteen years after the famous tennis player successfully underwent breast cancer treatment. Now the 66-year-old American-Czech tennis player has been diagnosed with throat and breast cancer after doctors discovered an enlarged lymph node in her neck in November.

“This double wound is unpleasant, but still curable,” said the tennis player. “I hope for a favorable result. It’s going to suck for a while, but I’ll fight with all my might,” she added determinedly. Her spokeswoman then stated that both tumors are in an early stage and the treatment is promising.

Due to treatment, Navrátilová will not participate in the Australian Open, where she acts as a television commentator. He hopes, however, that he will be able to communicate his observations to viewers at least occasionally via telebridge from his home in Florida.
