Without too much difficulty, Manchester United qualified for the next round of the FA Cup, following their victory (3-1) against Reading, residents of the Championship. A clear and flawless domination of the Red Devils, led by a great Casemiro author of a double.

At kick-off, Erik Ten Hag had made only one change from the team, which had won at Nottingham (0-3) this week. Maguire took the place of Martinez in central defense and Raphaël Varane, meanwhile, sat on the bench.

Very quickly in control in this match, the opening of the score of Manchester arrives at the 35th via Marcus Rashford. But the referee, after viewing the VAR, canceled the goal for an offside position by Wout Weghorst. If Reading thought for a time to open the scoring, the score remained nil at the break (0-0).

Frustrated at not leading logically to the score, the Mancunians rely on Antony to unblock the situation. After a brilliant pass in the area for Casemiro, the ex-Madrid player finished the action with a sublime dive above the goalkeeper (55th). Three minutes later, it’s another Brazilian, Fred, who once again shifts Casemiro for a long shot. The shot is slightly deflected by a defender and ends up in the back of the net for the 2-0 (58th).

After the exclusion of Andy Carroll, Fred with a sublime “Madjer” scored the third goal for United (66th). Reading reduced the gap late in the game (72nd) through former Messin Salif Mbengue.
