The bill of exchange speculation is becoming more concrete!
It was only on Thursday that the usually well-informed Spanish “Mundo Deportivo” reported that the Saudi club Al-Hilal wanted to lure world champion Lionel Messi (35) into the desert – with the crazy salary of 280 million euros per year!
According to “The New Arab”, Messi’s father and advisor Jorge (65) is said to have arrived in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh to talk about a possible transfer!
Most recently, rally driver Nasser Al-Attiyah, who is a relative of the Emir of Qatar, fueled the transfer rumours: “I am sure that Messi will be signed by a club from Saudi Arabia in a few months. And I can tell you which team: I’m sure he’ll end up at Al-Hilal.”
Allegedly, Messi is set to become an Al-Hilal player before February 1st. They wanted to have the world champions in their squad for the Club World Cup, to be played in Morocco from 1-11 February.
In the desert state, the Argentine could meet a familiar face: superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (37). The Portuguese had recently signed with Al-Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Including advertising revenue, Ronaldo should collect around 200 million euros per season.
