Ligue 1: Irvin Cardona leaves Brest for Augsburg

After several days of negotiations, Brest and Augsburg have agreed on the transfer of 25-year-old striker Irvin Cardona, who has only appeared ten times in the league and who has started only once this season with the Breton club.

While he had hinted at very good things about his first two seasons in Finistère, the former Monegasque had been losing ground for a few months. According to our information, he arrived in Augsburg for his medical examination on Tuesday. If all goes as planned, he will commit until June 2027 with the current 14th in the Bundesliga.

Irvin Cardona will have played 106 games with Stade Brestois, for a total of 19 goals and six assists. This is the second start of the winter in the Breton ranks after Jere Uronen who joined Schalke 04 on a paid loan with an option to buy. Cardona and Uronen could come face to face in the Augsburg-Schalke 04 game scheduled for March 18.
