The Saga North Police Station in Saga Prefecture held a lecture by Ms. Haruna Sakamoto (maiden name Asami), who played an active role as a member of the Japan women’s judo team (photo). About 60 police officers participated in the event, which was aimed at promoting the active participation of female police officers.

Sakamoto won the World Judo Championships in the women’s 48-kilogram class for the second time in a row. After retiring, she became a member of the All Japan Women’s Judo Strengthening Committee and served as a special coach for women’s judo at the Tokyo Olympics. In her lecture on this day, she introduced her experience as a top athlete on the theme of “My way of life as an athlete and a mother”. She touched on her real-life experience of being involved in raising her juniors while raising children, and said, “It is only with the understanding and cooperation of her husband that she is able to balance childcare and work.” Told.
