LeBron James | When will he become the NBA player with the most points? – US SPORTS NBA BASKETBALL

When is it?

New records are set every season in the NBA. Some are even broken and improved again within a few weeks. But there are also some who remain untouchable for years. And then there are records that are forever. Records that hardly anyone thinks possible that they will ever be broken.

For example, the record for the most points in an NBA game: Wilt Chamberlain scored the legendary 100 points on March 2, 1962 when his Philadelphia Warriors played the New York Knicks. Or the record for most points scored in NBA history. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar leads the ranking with 38,387 points. For comparison, absolute NBA legends like Wilt Chamberlain (7th place with 31,419 points), Michael Jordan (5th place with 32,292 points) and Kobe Bryant (4th place with 33,643 points) didn’t even come close to that mark.

Abdul-Jabbar, who played for the Lakers for 14 years, has established a brand that has long been considered untouchable – until now. Because the current Lakers superstar LeBron James is about to break this record.

LeBron James is just 224 points away from overtaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

When will LeBron James break the record?

At his career average of 27.2 points per game, it would take James nine games to break that mark. He could do that against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 9th.

At his 2022-23 average of 29.8 points per game, it would take James eight games to break that mark, which he would do on Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Since turning 38 on December 30, James has averaged 35.1 points per game. If he maintains that average, it would take James seven games to break the mark, which puts him well on track on February 4 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

That assumes James plays every game between January 24 and when he breaks the record.
