Let’s start by saying that Deshaun Watson was not condemned by justice and has settled financially part of the complaints filed against him. LeBron James therefore has the right to support a player, whoever he is, for his sports performance. Simply, the King’s tweet on Sunday evening, after the Cleveland Browns game, inevitably makes some teeth cringe.
“Yes Mr. D-Watson! This boy is finding his rhythm!”.
LeBron obviously does not mention the more than embarrassing affairs around Watson, but simply his good game against the Washington Commanders. We must still remember the reason why the NFL player was suspended for 11 games and fined $ 5 million: 24 women have filed complaints against him for sexual assault, most during massage sessions.
Deshaun Watson claimed that the complainants were consenting or had simply rebuffed his advances, qualified, according to him wrongly, as assaults. He finally apologized if his “behavior offended people”, after the Texas court refused a trial. These cases were settled behind the scenes, with financial agreements and the monitoring of a program around the issue of harassment and sexual assault.
The testimony of some plaintiffs, however, is chilling and seeing LeBron, who has always been careful to stay away from troublesome supports during his career, will not only win friends by showing enthusiasm for the performances of the quarterback of Cleveland.
The Browns weren’t bothered by that case and signed him to a $230 million deal after bringing him on a trade with Houston.
