BADMINTON. Like every last weekend of January, badminton players take possession of the Bicubic in Romont. The 8th edition of the Open Glâne will bring together 230 players this Saturday (doubles, from 8 a.m.) and this Sunday (singles, from 8:30 a.m.). “Our tournament is family-friendly, open to everyone and takes place at a time when people need to play in competition,” underlines the new president of BC Glâne Jean-Yves Salomone. Highlight of the weekend: the singles finals on Sunday from 3 p.m. The young Gruérien Vincent Barras, 109th Swiss player and seeded number 1 at Romont, will defend his title won last April. QD
