Kane’s Ambition to Pursue Tottenham’s Goal Record May Be Delayed Due to Illness

London

Harry Kane must be patient in his ambition to surpass Jimmy Greaves’ record as Tottenham Hotspur’s highest-scoring player. He is in danger of not being able to play due to illness.

Kane has currently scored a total of 266 goals for Tottenham Hotspur. He became the most fertile player for The Lilywhites along with Jimmy Greaves.

The 29-year-old striker managed to equal Greaves’ score after scoring against Fulham when Tottenham won 1-0. Incredibly, Kane did that in a sick condition.

Kane now only needs one additional goal to beat Greaves’ goalscoring record. The opportunity is wide open with Tottenham after this will face second caste club Preston North End in the FA Cup, Sunday (29/1/2023).

Unfortunately, Kane’s chance to appear in this match is relatively small. The reason is, Kane was not yet in good shape after forcing himself to play in an ill condition when he met Fulham.

The England national team captain has just returned to training after being absent in the last few days. Assistant manager Tottenhan, Cristian Stellini, doubts Kane will be able to appear against Preston.

“We only have one problem, with Harry, because he played the last game sick,” Cristian Stellini was quoted as saying by France 24.

“He hasn’t trained for a week, he trained this morning but he wants to come with us and play. We know very well that Harry wants to play every game so we are happy Harry is involved in the game but the only situation we have to deal with is this,” he explained.
