On a cloud, the former world number one offered himself a card of 63 (-10). If Rahm started his day with a bogey, the winner of the US Open 2021 then continued with nine birdies and an eagle.

« I started to believe it after my eagle of 15, when I saw that there was only one stroke left. In addition, everything was going very well for me, I was playing very well. »

With a final score of -27, Rahm wins and lifts his 8th title on the PGA Tour. A performance that allows him to climb to 4th place in the world.

« It was a crazy day. I’m not going to lie. I came so far and thought we were going to need a little miracle. After bogey 1, I needed a bigger miracle. It’s a course where you can score very low, I took my chance on each hole by giving myself opportunities for birdies. »

Morikawa squirms

Rahm wins two strokes ahead of Collin Morikawa. The American, solid leader after three holes, could not do better than a card of 72 (-1).

« I’m really sad that I couldn’t finish the job. It sucks. You work so hard and give yourself these opportunities… I don’t know what I’m going to learn from this week, but I didn’t feel like it was that far. Yeah, that sucks. »
