In Morges successes for Laura Regazzoni and Loris Perosa

As per tradition, the Morges tournament kicked off the 2023 competitive activity in Switzerland. The one organized in the Vaud town, now in its 50th edition, is one of the most demanding competitions on the national calendar. Athletes from 7 nations, especially from France, raised the level of the competition. Among the participants also 12 from Ticino, looking for the first points valid for qualifying for the Swiss Championships at the end of the year. Among the U18 boys, Loris Perosa (-81 kg) stands out, who won with a certain ease. The youngster from JBC Bellinzona also played in the U21 match, where he was defeated only in the final at the golden score by Dégailler, the Swiss runner-up in the category.

Excellent race also for Alessandra Regazzoni (DYK Chiasso, -70 kg), first in the U18 and third among the U21, who confirms the progress made in 2022. Less luck, but great determination, for the other Ticino athletes competing in the U18, i.e. Chiara Ambrosini, Martina Fontana, Fabio Ciulla, Martino Gada and, among the U21s, Lia Marcionetti and Greta Castellani.

Among the elite Victoire Sarlin (JBC Bellinzona) ranks second. Greta Castellani (JK Biasca) finishes fifth and gets 2 ranking points. The same placement for Roberto Maserin (JBC Bellinzona, -66 kg), defeated only at the golden score. Good race also for Angelo Melera (-73 kg), who finds 3 Frenchmen on his way and finishes fifth.
The other Bellinzonese Martin Motta was unlucky, as he returned after an injury in the -81 kg category and was unable to pass the first round. One victory and two defeats mean seventh place instead to Loris Luis (DYK Paradiso) in the -55 kg category. Next race, the Ranking 500 tournament in Oensingen on February 11th.
