his trainer fought with Chuck Norris

Martial arts legend Chuck Norris has graced the Hollywood entertainment industry with some of the greatest fight sequences in history. And those close to reality sequences are the most adored by fans and viewers. However, Norris’s shadow (and his muscles) is much longer –here we remember when he shared a gym with Lou Ferrigno aka Hulk–: one of his victims received an offer to work as a trainer and physical trainer for a certain Andre Agassi.

In the action film Lone Wolf McQuade, dating from 1982, he has received much praise. From Chuck’s rogue character to his martial arts prowess, the movie has all the makings of a blockbuster. While many fans applauded Norris’s fighting prowess, tennis star Andre Agassi was interested in actor Gil Reyes. And as soon as the movie came out, Gil ended up becoming Andre’s personal trainer.

A few months ago, the actor and Tang Soo Do champion appeared in an interview for Black Belt, where he shared every nook and cranny of his 35 glorious years in the movies. He even recalled some interesting anecdotes related to his movies. At one point, he had to talk about Lone Wolf McQuade and, Chuck replied, “It’s one of my favorites.”

Additionally, Norris applauded his teammates, David Carradine and Barbara Carrera. And also, he remembered the fight sequence between him and Gil Reyes, who played the role of a nightclub bouncer in the movie. The martial artist added: “Gil Reyes, the muscular guy who kept getting knocked out, ended up becoming Andre Agassi’s personal trainer.”

According to Norris’s revelations, Gil he received an offer right after the film opened in theaters. Interestingly, since then, Reyes has continued to train Agassi and “continues to be” Andre’s personal fitness trainer.

What was the draw in the Chuck-Gil fight sequence?

In the movie, when Chuck’s character, Jim Mcqaude, walks into the bar with his co-star, Barbara Carrera, they are accosted by the bar bouncers. Also, to defend Barbara from Gil, Chuck gets into a fight with him and keeps knocking him down with her kicks and punches. Definitely, Lone Wolf McQuade is one of the highlights of Norris’s career. However, the film’s fight sequences were revered even by the professional tennis champion. What do you think of Chuck and Gil’s on-screen dynamic? Share your opinion in the comments section below.
