Hero Cup: Continental Europe win against the British Isles and Ireland, Perez undefeated

History will remember that it was the half point secured by Adrian Meronk on the 17th green that ensured victory for continental Europe. Facing Callum Shinkwin, the Pole gave his team the half point necessary to reach the thirteen points necessary for the final victory. This a few moments after the victory of Victor Perez (4/2 against Jordan Smith).

A Frenchman undefeated all week and reassuringly solid during the three days of match play (3.5 points in four outings), as evidenced by his last two putts converted on Sunday to secure the point of victory. The Tarbais played -6 over 16 holes, on a course which will host one of the biggest tournaments of the DP World Tour 2023 next Thursday. All under the eyes of Luke Donald, European captain of the 2023 Ryder Cup, in Rome next end of September.

Last day once again complicated for Antoine Rozner. Opposed to the formidable Ryder Cup player Tyrrell Hatton, the Parisian, current 4th European player, took a correction against the Englishman (5/4). A defeat without consequence for the Continentals. Led by their captain/player Francesco Molinari (3/2 winner of Shane Lowry), then winners of the last duel (4/3 for Migliozzi over Mansell), they won this first Hero Cup by 14.5 points to 10.5 points.
