Handball: Sébastien Quintallet is no longer the coach of Ivry

While the French men’s team is preparing for its first match counting for the 2023 World Cup, this Wednesday against Poland, one would think that the clubs of the French championship are taking the opportunity to recharge their batteries. This is not the case on the side of Ivry. The current 14th of Starligue has indeed announced this Monday in a press release to separate from his coach, Sébastien Quintallet, with immediate effect, and a few months from the end of the latter’s contract.

The former center half of Créteil in the 2000s, aged 45, apparently paid for the disappointing results of his team, including the very wide setback (23-33) conceded at the neighbor Cristolien just before Christmas. At the end of the meeting, Sébastien Quintallet showed the mine of the bad days, far from that displayed during the rise of the club in the Elite in mid-April.

Sébastien Quintallet ended his playing career in 2014 at Vernon Porte Normande before embarking on the adventure of coaching with some success for such a young novice. It was under his management that Pontault-Combault, his first club on the bench, returned to the Starligue at the end of the 2017-2018 season. Having left for Ivry, he managed to maintain the Rouge et Noir team for two years before experiencing a descent, then a return among the best. His successor is not yet known.
