Not wanting to lose on ticketing revenue, Rodez Aveyron football (L2) rejected AJA for its specific request regarding the conditions of access to the stadium for the Cup round of 16. de France scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, at 6:15 p.m. The match has already started!

To reach the third quarter-final of the Coupe de France in their history, the Ruthénois should fight hard on Wednesday February 8 at Abbé-Deschamps, at the Ligue 1 resident. But even before the kick-off of a meeting which could therefore go down in history, it was behind the scenes that the match was launched.

Indeed, at the start of the weekend, the Yonne club issued a press release specifying the conditions of access to its stadium for this match, formalizing at the same time the opening of the ticket office. In the latter, it is specified that the subscribers of the AJA will have to pay the entry, whereas it was not the wish of the club at the start. “In accordance with the rules of the Coupe de France, we unfortunately did not have the agreement of the visiting club to invite all of our subscribers to this meeting. We have therefore decided to let them benefit from the minimum imposed price of €5. to acquire their place”, is it written in particular on the club’s website or in a letter sent to fans of the current 19th in Ligue 1.

Many Rodez supporters at the match?

An end of inadmissibility confirmed this Sunday by Guillaume Laurens, director of development within the Raf. “AJA has 9,500 subscribers. Sharing a zero ticketing revenue is not in the philosophy of the Coupe de France,” he told us. Thus assuming this choice dictated by the financial argument. But, therefore, why not have offered to also benefit from free access to Raf subscribers and partners? “A Wednesday evening. In Auxerre. I’m not sure of their interest in this trip”, indicated the leader, before pressing: “Even for our kop supporters, I think it’s complicated to organize this shift.”

What to fear a visitor park ringing desperately hollow for what will certainly be a highlight in the history of the club? To be continued.
