Football, Atalanta returns to victory, 1-2 comeback over Bologna and takes Rome and Lazio back to fifth place – OA Sport

Atalanta returns to victory after four games. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team snatches the three points from Dall’Ara in a comeback, overcoming Bologna 1-2 in the postponement of the seventeenth day of Serie A; with this success the neroazzurri catch Roma and Lazio in fifth place with 31 points, while the Bolognese remain anchored to 19 points, in twelfth place.

The hosts are forced to make a virtue of necessity in attack. With Arnautovic and his replacement Zirkzee unavailable, Thiago Motta ‘invents’ Sansone as a false nueve, with Orsolini, Ferguson and Soriano in support. On the other hand, Gasperini opts for two ‘real nine’ forwards, with Hojlund and Zapata forward with Pasalic in support.

Bologna suddenly unlocks it after only six minutes. Orsolini takes care of signing the winning paw, collecting a rejected run by Palomino and beating Musso with a left foot at the far post. The rossoblù manage to keep up with the sterile offensives of the Bergamo players, indeed Orsolini nearly scored his personal brace while Medel went close to making it 2-0 with a shot from outside. Atalanta is harmless and the first half ends on 1-0.

Gasperini chooses to change set-up: out Hateboer and Pasalic, both impalpable, with Zappacosta and Boga in their place. The move immediately paid dividends and the players from Bergamo immediately equalized with a shot from the left from 25 metres. The 1-1 gives enormous energy to Gasperini’s men, who push for the lead and find it in the 58th minute: tear towards the center of Boga which pits for Hojlund who overtakes Skorupski with an elegant left foot. Bologna, after two slaps in fifteen minutes, tries but to no avail, earning the second knockout in a row.
