BOLOGNA – Demolition work has begun in preparation for the redevelopment of the Gianni Falchi sports center in Piazzale Atleti azzurri d’Italia. After the demolition of the currently unusable building, with 150 thousand euros of municipal resources, the redevelopment of the baseball, softball and football field of the Cittadella dello Sport will start, which will be carried out thanks to 1 million euros financed by the Pnrr Sport and social inclusion . The redevelopment of the Citadel soccer field will begin in June 2023 and be completed by December, while the redevelopment of the baseball field and softball field is scheduled to begin in October 2023 through March 2024.
The Cittadella dello Sport is part of a package of projects eligible for Pnrr Sport and social inclusion funding for a total of over 10 million euros included in the Municipality’s Three-Year Public Works Plan last July. “I personally participated in the start of the first works – comments the councilor for Sport Roberta Li Calzi – which will allow us to start one of the PNRR Sport projects, improving the baseball and softball spaces and also those of football, inside the center sport in the Savena district, which we increasingly want to transform into a meeting place not only during weekend events”.
