Fabio Silva scorer delivered but frustrated: “Already at 11, it’s difficult, so …”

Fabio Silva had believed to offer an unexpected victory to Anderlecht, but the Mauves cracked to finally bow.

Two and a half months later Fabio Silva finally shook the nets once again. The Portuguese’s sixth goal of the season in the Pro League gave Anderlecht a nice lead, although they were 10 from the 6th minute of play. “We fought a lot. It’s already difficult at 11 against this team, so at 10…we tried to stay compact and contain them, it worked well up to a point”, analyzes the RSCA striker after the meeting.

In recent weeks, Silva may have seemed frustrated with his loneliness at the forefront, and it is naturally not tonight that it has been easier for him. “It’s difficult because at ten the team expect me to keep the ball, but I always have two or three men on me. But you have to do everything for the team, it’s not me who matters here”, he relativizes.

Despite everything, Silva will be able to comfort himself with a goal that can do a lot of good. “Of course it’s nice. I’m happy with this goal, although I don’t know how to be 100% happy because the team loses. But I always try to work for the team, to give my all, and I I told myself that the goals would end up falling. No, there was no frustration or concern on my part,” said Fabio Silva. “Afterwards, today, I would have preferred us to win without me scoring. I believe that a victory or at least a draw would have been deserved today, it’s a bit hard as a result. But at the end, we were a bit tired from having run so much and the Union took advantage of it”.
