Ex-Girona player Jaume Ribera dies at the age of 90

Girona FC is in mourning following the death of former player Jaume Ribera, aged 90. Born in England, Ribera I, as he was known, was the eldest of a line completed by his brothers Josep and Enric, who also played for Girona. In addition, he was the uncle of Nan Ribera, son of his brother Josep. Jaume Ribera made his debut with Girona’s first team in 1953 and played in the Second Division in 56-57, after returning from Comtal. He would return to Vistalegre in a second stage after his time at Hércules and would go on to play 75 games.
