A quick break by the Spaniard in the decisive round finally set the course for defeat. From time to time, the potential of the native Ukrainian flashed again during individual rallies, but in the end Lys had to admit defeat.

Torben Beltz (46), former coach of Angelique Kerber (34), who is absent from Melbourne due to her pregnancy, followed the game from the stands at times. “In general, Eva has great potential and can definitely make it into the top 50. The serve is still very expandable, but otherwise she has really great talent, ”said the coach of the Estonian Anett Kontaveit (27).
