The 48th Emperor’s Cup Japan Wheelchair Basketball Championship, sponsored by the Japan Wheelchair Basketball Federation (JWBF), which is sponsored by our company (President: Takeshi Saito), will be held on January 20 (Fri) and 21. We are pleased to inform you that it will be held for the first time in about three and a half years * 1 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) for two days on Saturday.
The competition follows almost the same rules as regular basketball, except for the use of wheelchairs. The speedy movements and quick passwork unique to a wheelchair have a different appeal from regular basketball, making it a parasport that attracts a lot of attention.
This tournament is the only tournament in Japan to determine Japan’s best wheelchair basketball club team, and players who played as a representative of Japan at the “Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games” are scheduled to participate. Please come to the match venue and cheer on the players who are aiming to be the best in Japan.
