When we are six days away from the delivery of the Altius Awards, to the best of ours, on the Gala Night of the Colombian Olympic sport, the Colombian Olympic Committee presented the group of nominees for the Athlete of the Year categories for the sports that make part of the Olympic program and for those who are not.
From the nine previous editions, the format of the Altius Awards changed in the seventh version, with the idea of exalting separately the sports that compete in the Olympic Games and those that do not, with strict regulations for the election of the winners.
Since this format was implemented, the winners of the highest Gold Altius in Olympic Games sports have been Caterine Ibargüen (2018), Egan Bernal (2019) and Anthony Zambrano (2021)while In sports that are not part of the Olympic Games program, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez (2018), María José Rodríguez (2019) and Sara López (2021) have won the gold Altius.
After a 2022 of many world championships, including the Birmingham World Games, which are like the Olympic Games for sports that are not part of the Olympic program, the election was destined for world champions.
