One of the biggest disappointments in Felice Mazzu’s career is undoubtedly his resignation from Anderlecht.
Certainly the comments afterwards about a miscasting hurt him. Just as much as the remark of his successor and interim coach Robin Veldman that the physical parameters of the players were not in order, something the Dutchman repeated several times.
The newspapaer Mazzu asked if that affected him, after which he could not contain himself. “If you say something like that when you succeed a trainer, then you are a ‘grand monsieur’, with a lot of class. A great gentleman, really. Mr. Veldman has a lot of class.” To be clear, he added: “Yes, I am ironic.”
