Deportivo Cali continues adding training sessions in this second week of preseason, with the aim of arriving in the best possible way at the beginning of the championship, from the physical and sports side, led by coach Jorge Luis Pinto.
Precisely, the Santander coach spoke with the program ‘El Super Combo del Deporte’ about the current situation of the team and the formation of the payroll: “happy, we are working well, we have managed to balance a payroll, suddenly the ideal, something may be needed but it’s what we want. We have strength, we believe in them and we want to fight with a very competitive team, with a good football level. That they can produce what we expect and put together this team”.
Regarding whether more players can arrive, he said: “it could be, but we are satisfied with the roster. We have players to produce, grounded, young people to look for a future, it seems to me that Cali always has that commitment from the quarry. We are going to give the option to various players from the academy, in various positions and I hope with this mixed group, to respond to the fans”.
He was asked if he had any concerns with any position and he replied that: “there is a base group of experienced players who complement the roster, we would say class A, but there are good alternatives, many from the academy, others who have also come. In the front we have enough people, in the back the same with young boys and we are going to bet on them ”.
“We already defined the roster, we analyzed it, we chose players before leaving for the World Cup, the negotiations were carried out and we are involved with that group. We stay as we are at this moment”, added Pinto.
About the end, he answered the question about the rumor of the departure of the goalkeeper Humberto Acevedo: “there is that possibility, he wants to have friction, competition, he saw here the possibilities of not playing and so we gave him the authorization to leave. He could be replacing him Johan Wallens ”.
