The start of the 2023 season for Cristina Lamas and Paco Castilla, from Club Badminton Albacete, could not have been more promising. They competed in the Senior National Circuit held in Vitoria, maintaining the high level shown last season.
Cristina Lamas begins a new cycle, both for the move to a new age category, and for a change of scenery in the mixed doubles modality. After several years competing alongside Miguel Ángel Polo (Drop Toledo), with whom she won a multitude of awards and reached number one in the national ranking, she begins a new stage with the German Oliver Walla who lives in Pamplona. The start could not have been better, she winning in Vitoria with complete authority, without giving up a single set. She also won in the individual modality, where she has the goal this year of winning the Spanish Championship. She could not make a triplet when she lost in the doubles modality with Beatriz Martín (Leganés).
Paco Castilla met his expectations and returns with the semifinals in the two modalities in which he participated. In singles, he only lost to the champion and in doubles, together with Oliver Walla, they lost in the final set 20-22.
