Construction of the Sarmiento neighborhood basketball court advances

This morning, the mayor Damián Bernarte, toured the work of what will be the 3×3 basketball court in the Plaza de Barrio Sarmiento.

This work is part of the Comprehensive Sports Development Program of the Municipality, which also includes the José Hernández neighborhood court, which is about to be inaugurated.

From his official Facebook account, he highlighted that he supervised the work and maintained that “it is turning out great!”

Both works arose from the initiative of a child from our city who was read by a basketball star and went viral. Mateo Bianchotti Cattaneo, 11 years old, asked the municipality to use one of the squares that San Francisco has to build a basketball court.

“Hello, my name is Mateo Bianchotti Cattaneo, I am 11 years old and I live in the José Hernández neighborhood, my greatest wish is to have a playground with basketball hoops to play with my neighborhood friends. We currently play basketball with them in a club and we would like to practice in free time”, spread the child.

The text went viral through the social network Twitter and reached the eyes of the Argentine basketball player, Facundo Campazzo, who also campaigned: “And if we make it happen?”, he replied.

The mayor, Damián Bernarte, heard the claim and joined the wave of comments on the tweet. “Let’s make it happen! We are already working together and we are not only going to fulfill Mateo’s dream, but we are going to build two more in different parts of the city. We invite you to come and inaugurate them!”, wrote his moment.

Well, today, with the tour of the work in the Sarmiento neighborhood, Bernarte remarked that it will soon be ready to be enjoyed and he hopes that Campazzo attend the inauguration. “The first pitches are yours, Facu!” He concluded.
