Condepor inaugurates Xiomara Castro basketball tournament

C8Deportes (07.01.2023).- The National Commission for Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Condepor)inaugurated the basketball tournament that bears the name of the Honduran President, Xiomara Castro.

The competition began on Friday and will end this Sunday, January 8 with the participation of 40 teams in the categories, U-10, U12, U-14 and U-16, and will be played in three different scenarios such as Gym number 3 of the José Simón Azcona complex.

Similarly, on the courts of the Francisco Morazán National Pedagogical University (UPNFM) and in the Obelisk. According to information from Condepor, today’s first match was between the Hondubasket teams against the Lions.

Arrival of synthetic grass

On the other hand, Condepor announced that the shipment of synthetic fiber arrived in the country to be adhered to the floor of the Chelato Uclés Stadium in Tegucigalpa, which is equivalent to five percent of the total surface area of ​​the capital’s sports venue.

Meanwhile, the remaining 95 percent is the natural grass of the Bermuda variety, but the machine in charge of carrying out this work would be arriving in the middle of this month from the Dutch port of Rotterdam, according to what the sports commission publishes on its networks in Honduras.

Repair and remodeling of the Lempira Reina stadium

Finally, all the personnel of this institution continued with the work of fully recovering the Lempira Reina baseball stadium, where the head of the commission, Mario Moncada, was present to lead these activities and advance in the restoration of the mythical field, which is located next to the Chelato Uclés Stadium.

In this way, the mandate of President Xiomara Castro to spread sports and any physical activity is being carried out in a good way by the Condepor authorities, so that children and young people have the opportunity to practice any sport for free.
