Comet Květ about the dark period in Příbram, coach Csaplár and the new team. Pilsen was a priority for me, he says

“Until now, I have worked in clubs that played more for survival. It will be different with Pilsen. I’m tempted to experience it,” says the 25-year-old acquisition from Bohemians Prague, for whom Květ scored 9 goals in the league in the autumn, in an interview with Sport.cz.

Will your season of life continue in the spring?

I hope it will be. It depends on how much game time I get. I believe that it is enough to add more goals and help Pilsen.

However, Slavia and Sparta were also discussed in connection with you. Did they grope you?

They tapped. But Pilsen was a priority for me. He has had the greatest success lately, plus I felt a vision for the future, a career shift. Viktorka made the most sense to me. It’s just being confirmed to me now. The quality of the staff here is huge, compared to Bohemka I perceive a big difference, a big leap.

Three years ago, such a scenario would certainly not have occurred to you. Do you ever remember the winter of 2020?

Sometimes it crosses my mind, the memories are not pleasant. But although things looked bleak with me, everything turned out well for me. The Goddess took me, she threw me a lifeline. She moved me all the way to Pilsen. Now it’s up to me how I can establish myself in Viktorka. I have great conditions for football here.

The head of Bohemians Prague, Darek Jakubowicz, stated at the end of autumn that he sees you more abroad. You too?

I’m attracted to foreign countries, I don’t hide it. If the engagement made sense to me, the second league. In the summer, Belgium was in the game, a club that had a vision of promotion to the first league. Foreign countries are also interesting for me in terms of life. I would really like to learn another language. But the offer from Viktorka was the most attractive to me, it is an extremely successful, big club. Now it’s important that I can help her and make it here.

Let’s go back to Příbra. After being reassigned to the reserve, did you fear that your career was over?

I was worried that I might not be able to reach the level I had when I first entered the league. But I’m healthy confident, I knew I had to catch myself somewhere.

I bit my baby very badly, I had bad emotions. On the other hand, I am very grateful to Příbram, she gave me the chance to play in the league. The season under coach Csaplár in the second league was excellent.

Csaplár speaks well of you. His former sentence that you have your feet on Real Madrid is widely known.

This was said in great exaggeration. I was pleased that the coach saw talent and potential in me. We had a very good relationship. Overall, he worked well with the young players. I think I can also speak for my then teammate Honza Matoušek that thanks to Mr. Csaplár we are where we are now.

He told us what to do, what to focus on. Even outside of training. He is playing creative football, thanks to which we young people were able to show ourselves. Together with Bohemka’s coach, Mr. Veselý, they have the greatest merit in my career. I also have to thank Pep Jindřišek, who is rolling the league at forty-one! That I could watch him work on and off the field. Younger guys can take a lot of examples from him.

You own a fighting dog breed. Are you that kind of person?

I have a fighting breed, but he is not very combative. (laughs) I try to be combative in football, there is no other way if I want to make it somewhere. But it’s generally good when things are balanced. So I go to the water to calm myself down. I turn my head off, I don’t use my phone.

I don’t consider myself a big fisherman. Rather, we will sit down with our friends by the water. We went to Bohemka with Ondra Petrák and Hugo Bačkovský. On Berounk or on the Elbe. There, Ondra caught a fifteen-kilogram carp, which he sometimes throws to me as a joke.

So will you catch a carp for Christmas?

I promised him three times to my mother-in-law. I also asked how big he wanted. And nothing. I had to ignominiously buy it every time.
