The body of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is currently on display in the Vatican Basilica. Many faithful lined up today to pay homage to the Pontiff. Among these also the mayor of Castel Gandolfo, Alberto De Angelis, who arrived in Rome to bring greetings from the community and the municipal administration.
As you know, Benedict XVI spent a lot of time at Castel Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer seat, where he greatly appreciated the landscape and the residents. The mayor therefore wanted to pay homage to the Pope Emeritus by going to St. Peter’s in the tricolor band.
