Canal Encuentro Presents the Film ‘The Flame of Memory’

A tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and a warning against the rise of fascism today.

Canal Encuentro will broadcast the film this Friday at 9:00 p.m. “The flame of memory”a co-production between Argentina and Sweden directed by Rod Alorasin commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

It is a documentary that aims to recover that remembrance that could be strung together 50 years later, where crimes that put the very human condition in check are delicately narrated.

“The flame of memory” (premiered in 2020) presents a portrait of david gallantea Sephardic Jew from the island of Rhodes (Greece), a survivor of Auschwitz in Poland, who managed to reach Argentina and made his life in the country.

The movie obtained more than 15 prizes in different international competitions: “Best Short Documentary” at the New York Movie Awards, “Best Film” at the Amsterdam World Film Festival, “Best Sound Design” at the Florence Film Awards and “Best Director” at the Hollywood Gold Awards, among others.

It is a portrait of David Galante, a Sephardic Jew from the island of Rhodes, a survivor of Auschwitz who arrived in Argentina.

The public cable signal indicated through a statement that the documentary (2006) is a tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and a warning against the rise of fascism today.

It has music by Gonzalo Aloras and a cast made up of David Galante, Samuel Modiano, Martín Hazán, Paola Falico, Carlos Szwarcer, Graciela de Jinich, Raquel Eskenazi y Sandra Galante.
